Boise, Idaho – Statement released on behalf of the Idaho Organization of Resource Councils by Chad Brock regarding the Idaho Senate vote to exempt groceries from the 6 percent sales tax and remove the grocery tax credit.  Brock is an IORC board member and resident of New Plymouth.

“We applaud the Senate for their vote to pass the grocery tax bill and would like to thank Senator Bayer for all his hard work to get this passed.  We urge support from the House of Representatives and Governor Otter.  This is an opportunity for them to be champions for all Idahoans, and we hope they can support this legislation to increase food access and affordability for all Idahoans and remove a competitive disadvantage for Idaho businesses and border communities.”
